Low voltage - 230-500 volt (110 volt for small motors, lamps, etc.)

Frequency - 50-60 cycles

Mechanical energy converted into electrical energy by generator. In order to transfer generated Electricity from energy sources to the clients, the voltage of Electricity needs to be increased at step-up transformers. Then this AC electricity can be transferred to long distance without experiencing big losses due to resistance of the wire. At the destination area the high voltage needs to be lowered at step-down transformer. After this procedure, the electricity can be distributed to local consumers.
